5 Ways to Avoid Overpacking

5 Ways to Avoid Overpacking

Want to stop yourself from overpacking on your next trip? Here are 5 tips to keep in mind to pack lighter instead!

1. Limit Your Bag Size

Go for carry-on only! Check the airline's website for their baggage allowance limits (both dimensions & weight)! Oversized and check-in sized bags enable you to overpack, so restrict yourself to a carry-on bag and/or personal item.

2. Pack Ahead of Time

Don't wait until the last minute! This will force you into packing survival mode and you'll want to just throw a bunch of stuff into your bag "just in case." Be prepared and pack early to avoid this!

3. Wear Your Bulkiest Outfit on Travel Days

No matter if you're transiting by plane, train, bus, car, or boat, wear the heavy stuff (shoes and jackets included) and save the room and weight in your bag for more adventure.

4. Bring 3 Pairs of Shoes or Less

One pair for active adventures like hiking or bike riding, one pair for being around water like a beach, pool, or communal shower, and one that is a little nicer if you desire. Those should cover nearly everything!

5. Pack SPLICE clothing Reversible Travel Clothing

Multiply the amount of outfit options you have without taking up extra space! Start shopping for your travel capsule wardrobe of versatile items you can mix & match to pack light and adventure easy on your next trip!
