7 Adventures To Experience in Summer 2019

Summer is prime adventure time for many people around the globe. But how do you narrow down the next adventure destination when there are so many amazing places you want to visit?!

While you might not be able to do them all in one summer, these are our picks for the top 7 adventures and their destinations for Summer 2019:

1. Visit Elqui Valley for the Solar Eclipse

Elqui Valley Chile

The total solar eclipse in the world's first "International Dark Sky Sanctuary" will take place in this remote region of Chile on July 2, 2019. Not only will you be able to experience the total eclipse in this beautifully lush valley, but you can also go visit the many vineyards and distilleries for a drink while you're there!

2. Safari in Maasai Mara National Reserve during the Great Migration

Maasai Mara River Alligator

Late July through early September is the best time to witness the incredible migration of wildebeests from Serengeti National Park to Maasai Mara National Reserve over the crocodile and hippopotamus infested waters of the Mara River. You will undoubtedly see many more animals than those though, including cheetahs, lions, elephants, zebras, gazelles, and giraffes.

3. Scuba dive in the Red Sea

Red Sea Egypt

Get yourself to Egypt to scuba dive in the extremely clear blue waters of the Red Sea. The water will be a welcome relief from the hot temperatures and you might even be able to see dolphins, eels, and whale sharks among the colorful troves of fish in the coral.

4. Party at the Grand Canyon

Grand Canyon anniversary

The Grand Canyon in Arizona, USA is celebrating it's Centennial year in 2019 and commemorating 100 years of National Park Service with a Summerfest and Star Party from June 22-29, 2019. What better way to see one of America's most famous landmarks then on it's 100th anniversary?!

5. Chase waterfalls in Baños

Banos, Ecuador Waterfall

No, not bathrooms. Chase waterfalls in the tropical paradise of Baños, Ecuador. Rent a bike or take a tour to visit the insane amount of waterfalls surrounding this tiny city in the middle of the country. And definitely don't forget to visit the mack daddy of them all - Paillon del Diablo a.k.a. The Devil's Cauldron waterfall, measuring over 260 feet in height!

6. Raft through caves in Vang Vieng

Vang Vieng Laos Cave Tubing

For an exciting and somewhat creepy adventure, head to Vang Vieng, Laos to rent a tube raft, a life jacket, and a head lamp and float through the pitch black river caves. Afterward, you can also float down the Nam Song River stopping at the riverside bars to grab a drink and take the edge off from the scary cave encounters.

7. Do Extreme Sports in Interlaken

Interlaken Switzerland Paragliding

You probably wouldn't have guessed that Interlaken, Switzerland is the sports capital of Europe! This gorgeous city is surrounded by the Alps and has basically an unlimited supply of adventure. Skydiving, paragliding, hang gliding, kayaking, hiking, you name it, Interlaken probably has it.
